Yet Another Registry Update

I've had multiple questions and requests for clarifications regarding the registries...so here goes:

-sheets/bedding- I found out today that Tay and I have access to a queen mattress, so I've added sheets to the Macy's registry. These sheets match the duvet cover and sham set in the Urban Outfitters wish list. Sorry, the duvet and shams are online only, but it was the only set that combined my two very favorite things- birds and GREEN! I just couldn't resist. You understand.
-Urban Outfitters- I totally lied. I didn't update the UO registry. I've confessed this before you and God, so now we can all move on. whew. I feel so much better. The UO registry is actually a "wishlist" (which is actually a registry). Put in "Walling" for the last name and "Charlotte" for the city, and it should bring up "Taylor and CourtneyWalling". Thats us!
-Don't forget the Alternative Registry. Not all presents come from stores, infact, some of the best gifts have been pre-loved and deserve a new loving home. Tay and I love books, movies, and art. Anything you you would like to pass on to us, will be loved! There is also a request for foodstuffs. We need to fill our brandnew kitchen somehow! If you'd like to help in that way, simply ask me on the blog what we'd need and I'll gladly fill you in. Also, we've requested some Giftcards from Pier One and IKEA. Some feel that giftcards are impersonal, and thats totally fine! I'll do my best to keep the registries updated and full of different price ranges for that reason. But for those who can't come Alllllll the way to Charlotte, but would still like to bless Tay and I, the giftcards are a great (shipping free) option. Since neither of these (GREAT!) stores have registries, the giftcards are the best way to help us buy furniture.

All this to say, thanks to all of you who are so generous with your love, advice, and gifts!

----edit----
- I just remembered ONE MORE THING. (I'm really not that great at this registry stuff, am I?) My wonderful future mother in law told me last night that MACY's is having an amazing sale, like 50-75% off some registry things. If you go into the store with a printed copy of our registry, MACY's will honor those prices! Wow! What a deal. So, everyone thank Cathryn W. for her insider info!

Updates

With a visit to Louisville and Charlotte looming (only four more days!) I've been a busy gal-

-All of the registries should now be updated. There are a few new items, some gift card requests on the alternative registry and a few items on the Macy's registry that can only be purchased in the store (sorry, Macy's seems to update and change their online stocks daily so it can be hard to keep up with!). Don't forget, there is a Macy's in Helena if anyone from my home town is looking. Also, Charlotte has a Macy's, Ikea, Urban Outfitters, and a Ten Thousand Villages store in the city. Check 'em out.
-Cleaning. The craft room has been totally trashed for weeks now, the latest victim to countless wedding to-dos and projects.
-Packing. New suitcase, anyone? (Mine completely and utterly died)
-TOMS. I've promised Taylor a new painted up pair of TOMS, and have yet to finish them. I have one shoe done, and I'm working furiously to finish the second one before I get to Louisville. I'll try to post a picture or two before I hand 'em over to the husband-elect.
-Huppah cover. It's coming along nicely. I'm on the last leaf bunch (of four) and I'm hoping to finish the leaf before Thursday. Pictures to come!
-Wedding Bolero. Almost done! I have only a set and half left to knit on the second sleeve before I can join it in the back with a Kitchener's stitch. I realized this morning as I was knitting in bible class that I've actually been working on this tiny thing since last Christmas. ...Its time to finish it. Pictures to come!

That's about it for now. Though this week will be hectic, I'm so looking forward to seeing Tay for the first time in three months. I'm also excited for my very first bridal shower in Charlotte, put on by the very generous church ladies at Providence Road Church of Christ in Charlotte. I can't wait to see you all again! Speaking of church ladies, I've heard rumors that quite a few of you seem to be checking in on this blog from time to time. I'd love to know who! Please, feel free to comment and let me know!

much love,

-ck

Shoes, Glorious Shoes

So, I'm a girl. And...I love shoes. Am I a shoe hound? By no means, but still...I'm a girl. So, needless to say, the hunt for THE shoes has been relentless. I have a few favorites:

Les sigh, I have so many more favorites. Decisions Decisions.

Love it for Thursday

I just love how much Crinoline is poking out underneath this gown. My dress comes home all the way from Bali in a week or two. Yay! Now I'm on the hunt for fun colored poofy things to go underneath. How about this one?
Ok...this one might be a bit too fluffy.
But you get the idea.

My Birdtastic Boutonnieres (Part Deux)

While I didn't get ANY feedback from this blog regarding my test run boutonniere (sad face), I did get tons from my Offbeat Bride page. The gals over there are great! To summarize, the first boutonniere I made was nice, but too busy. Most of the gals suggested I remove the mushies. So I played around with them for a few days. And I'm glad I did- I made three really great ones that all look different. What do you think?
Mom and I will kick into high gear come Friday and whip out a bunch. So...Do you like? Please, I beg you...tell me!

Making Real Progress

I worked on the boutonnieres tonight (if only to spare myself one night of embroidery).

Take a look:

Mind you this is mostly a test, but the end result probably will look very much like this. What do you think? Any advice/changes? HELP!

Mason Jars...again?

I've been racking my brain, trying to think of unique ways to decorate the reception tables. I came across a new free online wedding magazine- Utterly Engaged - which has some wonderful nature inspired wedding themes. I love, in particular, one shot of a mason jar terrarium. They also have shots of bell jar versions as well. I figure mason jars would be A: cheaper, and B: tie the mason jar lanterns in. Here's the general idea (from Etsy.com):

It would be ideal to create a grouping, maybe 2 or 3 different sizes of terrariums. There are several wholesale jar sites that sell gallon and half gallon jars for around $7 a case- that's around $60 total for 24 jars. Wow. The. Internet. Is. Great. Period. With this idea, creating a cool centerpiece is as easy as throwing some moss in jar, adding a bird's nest and finishing it off with a candle. Booya. Centerpiece. Think the Mom's 'ull like it?
